If you've been following along this week, you already know how I feel about hypochlorous acid it's not a trend I recommend just because it's having a moment, it's a tool I reach for because it actually works. So let's talk about the specific one I keep in my studio and in my own routine: Face Reality's Omni Clear Mist.
Table of contents
Omni Clear Mist is a professional-grade, stabilized hypochlorous acid spray, powered by patented Microcyn® Technology. That last part matters more than people realize a lot of HOCl products start losing potency the moment you open them. Microcyn's stabilization process is what keeps this one performing the same on the last spray as it did on the first, instead of quietly turning into an expensive bottle of water a few weeks in.
It's alcohol-free, fragrance-free, and built from a short, purposeful ingredient list no filler, nothing to compensate for. It's also made in a medical-grade facility and dermatologist tested, which is part of why I trust it enough to use on clients with genuinely reactive, compromised skin.
One honest note: hypochlorous acid has a naturally occurring scent — a little like a mild chlorine or pool smell. That's not added fragrance, it's just what the active ingredient smells like, and it fades quickly once the mist dries down.
This is where I'll speak from the treatment room, not just the ingredient deck. I reach for Omni Clear constantly for clients recovering from peels and in-office treatments it calms redness, speeds healing, and keeps skin comfortable without any sting. It's also become my go-to recommendation for anyone who can't tolerate stronger actives like acids or benzoyl peroxide but still needs something working against breakouts. Gentle enough for daily use, strong enough to actually do something.
Mist it on after cleansing, or anytime throughout the day over makeup or SPF when skin needs a reset post-workout, post-treatment, or just mid-afternoon when things are feeling a little overwhelmed. It layers under everything else in your routine without getting in the way.
This is the one I carry in the studio, the one I hand clients after treatments, and the one that's earned its spot in my own routine. If you've been curious about hypochlorous acid after this week's posts, this is where I'd actually start.
