The Face Mask I'd Give Feyre Archeron
ACOTAR + Face Masks
A little bit about me before we dive in: I have four hobbies — Diet Coke, collecting handbags, painting, and reading. I read, on average, a book a day. A few other things I love: a good face mask, Ted Lasso, Schitt's Creek, and all things Bravo — especially The Traitors.
So when you put "reads a book a day" and "esthetician who's obsessed with masks" in the same person, this series was inevitable. I'm pairing book characters with the exact face mask I'd send them home with, if they ever sat in my chair.
First up: Feyre Archeron, from A Court of Thorns and Roses.
Why Feyre gets a barrier-repair mask
There's a moment in ACOTAR really, the whole book, where Feyre is pushed so far past what she can handle that you wonder how she's still standing. Starving in the woods. Thrown into a world she doesn't understand. Broken down again and again, only to come back stronger each time.
That's not a "glow" story. That's a recovery story.
Here's the thing about a compromised skin barrier: it doesn't happen from one bad day. It's cumulative. Over-exfoliating. Weather swings. Stress you didn't even clock as stress until your skin started telling on you. By the time it shows up — tightness, redness, that stripped-raw feeling — you're not looking for a quick glow. You're looking to rebuild.
That's Feyre's whole arc, if you think about it. She doesn't get to skip the hard part. She survives it, and what's left is stronger, not just prettier.
The Epicutis Lipid Recovery Face Mask works the same way. It's a barrier-repair treatment it rebuilds what's been stripped away rather than just sitting on top of the problem. It's genuinely one of my favorite treatments to send clients home with after a procedure, because it's that gentle and that effective. If your skin barrier has been through it lately, whatever your own "Under the Mountain" era looks like, this is the one.
How to use it as an at-home facial
You don't need a treatment room to get the benefit. Here's how I'd walk you through it at home:
- Cleanse — nothing stripping, just a gentle cleanser to remove the day
- Apply the Lipid Recovery Mask in an even layer, avoiding the immediate eye area
- Let it sit and actually do nothing for the recommended time — this isn't a multitask mask, it's a sit-with-yourself mask
- Remove gently, pat (don't rub) any excess into the skin rather than washing it fully away
- Follow with your regular moisturizer to lock it in
What's next
Court 2 of this series is Tamlin's mask, and it's coming soon timed to finish right around ACOTAR 6, A Court of Splintered Harmony, which releases October 27th. We're doing one court a week until then.
